Tips & Tricks for Creating Branded Maps in [Your Design Tool Name]

Branded maps are a great way to highlight your community’s location, a local point of interest — or both. You’ll notice that our branded maps don’t include all the typical elements of an interactive Google map. That’s by design. These maps are meant to be visually appealing and location-focused, not overloaded with details.

Note: This type of map may not work well for every area. Rural locations, in particular, often lack enough visual context to create an effective map.

1. Think Local

Our map tool is designed for close-up, neighborhood-level views. While you can use it to show larger metro areas, the results may not be as polished. For best results, stick to zoom levels around 5, 6, or 7 — this provides a good balance between context and clarity.

2. Zooming with Two Location Pins

When you add more than one location, you’ll notice zoom controls are disabled. This is intentional! The map automatically adjusts to fit all your location markers in view. It’s a smart way to ensure everything fits — but it does mean you won’t be able to fine-tune the zoom manually in those cases.

3. See Something Off? Let Us Know.

If you find a zoom level you like but notice something unexpected on the map — like an outdated business or a visual glitch — please click “Report a Bug.” Our team will look into it and make improvements where we can.

Branded maps are a small but powerful way to tell a story about your location. Keep it focused, keep it clear, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you spot anything odd.
